National Maritime Single Window

Evolution of the National Maritime Single Window and of the 'e-manifest with extension of customs clearance operations at sea

The aim of the project is to rationalise the exchange of information between the operators of the port cycle by implementing, in detail:

a) the full interoperability between the sea side systems of the Port Authorities (Port Management Information System, PMIS) and of the Agenzia delle Dogane e dei Monopoli authorities (Automazione Integrata Dogane Accise, AIDA) for the creation of the National Single Window. Within this context, the new model of e-manifest (electronic waybill of goods) will be implemented, which also includes the necessary re-engineering of the customs import and check processes that are closely connected in the traceability flow and of automation of the customs processes;

b) the extension of customs clearance at sea to other types of vessels and goods, typical of the freight flows of the ports in Southern Italy, namely solid and liquid batch goods (i.e. grains, oil and gas, etc.) transported via tankers and new vehicles transported on ro-ro ships.
