The project includes the construction of a system containing structured data of traffic demand and supply of logistic hubs and line operators, capable of permitting the analysis of vehicle and goods flows through the ports, interports and industrial districts of the less developed regions and that allows to identify the logistic dynamics of freight traffic generation.
The perimeter of this initiative includes the Port System Authorities and the Interports, foreseeing statistical inferences and georeferenced traffic flow analysis and estimates, for the reconstruction of the overall logistic flows. UIRNet also envisages, with this initiative, the possibility of extending participation to another two subjects during the life of the project, namely Anas and Autostrade per l’Italia, so as to increase the source data base and to increase the precision level of the origin/destination localisation of the vehicle flows, thereby reducing the estimate and approximation components.
Project activities are open to future steps for the integration of more data sources that would further increase the level of completeness of the wealth of information and the level of identification
