In line with the principle of the separation of functions defined in art. 72, letter b) of Regulation (EU) No 1303/2013 and in application of articles 123 and 124 of the same Regulation and of the principle of functional independence described in those articles, the following three Authorities have been designated with the aim of ensuring the efficient implementation of the OP Infrastructures and Networks and the proper completion of the management, monitoring and control activities provided for under Community Regulations:

  • Managing Authority within the meaning of art. 125 of Regulation (EU) No 1303/2013: the Director of Division 2 – National Operational Programmes for infrastructures and transport of the Directorate-General for territorial development, planning and international projects;
  • Certifying authority within the meaning of art. 126 of Regulation (EU) No 1303/2013: the Director of Division 6 – Paying Authority within the meaning of the Community regulations of the Directorate-General for territorial development, planning and international projects;
  • Audit Authority (within the meaning of art. 127 of Regulation (EU) No 1303/2013: NUVEC – Verification and Control Unit of the Agency for Territorial Cohesion.
